Our Story Creating a marketplace with compassion and fairness

Here at THE FAIR TREE we do things differently. You may have already realised that we’re not your usual e-commerce website. That’s because we’re not really an e-commerce site at all. We’re an open marketplace that advertises other people’s products. We scour the web and are always looking for the best products that fit our ethos: fair, ethical and vegan.
We don’t sell any products ourselves, but we provide you with purchase links.

It’s so easy these days to buy anything online, but not so easy to decipher whether the products you are buying contain animal products, were subject to animal testing and/or were developed ethically.

Therefore, we decided to make our own website, one that displays excellent products that follow our own high standards:

  1. All products displayed on our site are vegan! This means no animal products and no animal testing.
  2. We display a high number of recycled, upcycled and re-usable material. We try to avoid plastic products unless they have been recycled or are recyclable.
  3. We try to ensure that products displayed on our site are developed ethically. This includes fair trade and organic products where possible. This is hard for us to maintain, but we do our best.
  4. We love hand-made products. We try to include as many products made by individuals or smaller businesses as we can, and we’re always looking for new talent.
  5. We want to reduce your carbon footprint AND save you money. That’s why, where possible we try to include a more localised purchase link. The smaller the delivery distance, the better.

New products are being added all the time. We try to ensure that product details remain up-to-date regarding availability and price, but we’d love your help on this. That’s why our product pages allow you to report any issues. If you like what we do please help us out and let us know if you see any mistakes.

We’re passionate about what we do, and we hope we exceed your expectations. We welcome your feedback and suggestions. Use our Contact Us page to tell us what we’re doing right or what we can improve on.
